Led Podcast & Trailer Production on Intergenerational Dialogue

Date

1 November 2024 – 20 December 2024

Context

Group assignment for Radio & Vodcast Production in Chinese. Produced a 6-minute podcast and 1-minute podcast trailer exploring how radio redefines companionship across generations. Took initiative to lead script development, guest engagement, full audio editing, and trailer production due to unclear team roles.

Purpose

To showcase how traditional radio formats can emotionally engage Gen Z and older audiences through cross-generational storytelling.

Reflective Commentary:
As part of a group project for the Radio & Vodcast Production module, I led the production of a 6-minute Mandarin podcast and a 1-minute trailer on the theme “From Tape Recorders to Podcasts: Can Radio Still Redefine Companionship?” Although it was a group assignment, I took ownership of most of the key tasks as my group mates were unsure how to proceed. I developed the content structure, wrote the script, and conducted the guest interview. I then edited the entire podcast using Adobe Audition and produced the video trailer using CapCut, incorporating subtitles, music, and Gen Z-friendly pacing. This project strengthened my leadership, content planning, and technical editing skills, as well as my ability to manage ambiguity and deliver quality under time pressure. Going forward, I hope to build stronger teamwork by initiating clearer role delegation and communication from the start.
