As part of a digital journalism assignment at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I collaborated with my partner to produce a 60-second short reel, replicating the style of “Mothership” on TikTok.

The video begins with an exciting hook, similar to modern Singaporean casual news outlets, engaging with my target audiences from the get-go. I then transitioned into an interview-based angle, where I created content through public opinion on my overarching story. This helps to highlight the severity of my case, while giving my audiences multiple point-of-views for them to consider while watching the reel, leaving a lasting impression post-video.

This experience allowed me to strengthen my storytelling skills through the effective use of visuals, audio, and concise narration while adapting content to suit fast-paced digital media consumption. It reinforced my understanding of how impactful storytelling can be delivered within a limited timeframe to engage modern audiences.
