Worked with peers from Arts Business Management to develop A Spoonful of Truth, a bilingual interactive theatre proposal aimed at raising youth awareness of pre-diabetes. The project combined social storytelling, public health messaging, and bilingual communication strategies to engage audiences and address a real community health issue.
Reflective Commentary:
As part of a client-based project under the HMS initiative, my team developed A Spoonful of Truth, a proposal that used interactive theatre to raise youth awareness of pre-diabetes. I contributed by planning bilingual outreach strategies and designing post-performance evaluation tools, applying skills gained from my Chinese Media & Communication course. Working cross-disciplinarily with Arts Business Management students, I learned how to bridge media storytelling with social advocacy. This experience enhanced my proposal writing, teamwork, and public health communication skills. It also sparked my interest in using creative formats like theatre to drive positive social impact — an area I intend to explore further.
