Purpose
To promote healthier food decisions and reduce food waste through wearable health tech and mobile app integration.
Context
As part of Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Innovation Made Possible module, my team developed GLULYFE, a wearable device paired with the G-Life app. It helps users manage blood glucose, make healthier food choices, and reduce food waste. We also created custom-designed T-shirts for the exhibition to promote our innovation. Key features include glucose tracking, barcode scanning, and a rewards system. Skills gained: UX/UI design, 3D prototyping, branding, and user testing.
Project Overview 📌:
GLULYFE is a wearable health tracker paired with the G-Life app, designed to monitor glucose levels and encourage mindful eating. Features include non-invasive glucose tracking, barcode scanning for nutrition info, and a gamified reward system. Custom T-shirts were also designed for public showcasing during our exhibition.
Reflective Commentary:
In the IMP module, my team was challenged to create a tech-based innovation that improves health and sustainability. We designed GLULYFE, a wearable paired with the G-Life app, aimed at helping users track glucose levels, make better food choices, and reduce food waste. I contributed to UX/UI design, branding, 3D prototyping, and user testing. We conducted user trials and iterated based on feedback to improve functionality and engagement. I also helped design custom T-shirts to promote the project at our showcase. Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in prototyping, user-centered design, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Looking ahead, I plan to refine my skills in usability testing and explore how media design can further support health innovation.
